S31254 Stainless Steel Flanges A182 F44 S31254 BL Flanges
Alloy 254 SMO or the Astm A182 F44 Material is a very high end, molybdenum and nitrogen alloyed super austenitic stainless steel. This alloy has a very low content of carbon.
Flanges are devices, which are used in joining pipes, valves, and pumps in piping systems. The 254 SMO Flanges are made with high concentrations of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. This enables these flanges to have excellent corrosion and oxidation-resistant properties in various mediums. They are available in sizes between 1/8 NB to 24 NB. SMO 254 Flanges contain larger amounts of chromium in comparison with other steels and thus have good corrosion resistance. SMO 254 Slip-on Flanges contain about 10% of chromium. Grade SMO 254 Long Weld Neck Flanges are thermally stable and possess moderate strength even when the temperature is high. SMO 254 Threaded Flanges whose design enables combining improved resistance to pitting, high strength, stress corrosion, crevice corrosion and cracking. One such instance is in maritime flue gas desulphurization units, where the environmental temperature is higher than a super duplex alloy, the 6mo Flat Flange is ideal. This is possible due to the high content of nickel in its alloy, without any changes in its mechanical properties.
