s31803 thick pipe

The temperature in heat exchange is usually increased because they work according to the principle of heat transfer. While A789 tubing can hold its own at high temperatures, it is not recommended for use in temperatures above 600F. Duplex 2205 Tube may become brittle and rot at temperatures above 600F.

UNS S31803/2205 is a dual-phase steel grade with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure. The alloy consists of approximately 40-50% ferrite in the annealed condition. UNS S31803 is a dual-phase steel grade with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure. The alloy consists of approximately 40-50% ferrite in the annealed condition. The dual phase microstructure has the high strength of ferritic grades while retaining the corrosion resistance of austenitic grades. It is not uncommon to use this metal as a practical solution to chloride-induced stress cracking. Duplex stainless steels are extremely corrosion-resistant, work-hardenable alloys. Their microstructure consists of a mixture of austenite and ferrite phases. Therefore, duplex stainless steels exhibit the properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. This combination of properties can mean some compromises compared to pure austenitic and pure ferritic grades.
