Super Duplex 2507 is an austenitic grade stainless steel with low carbon and higher resistance to stress and crevice corrosion cracking as compared to AISI 316 & AISI 317 stainless steel grades. They are defined by having a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) greater than 40. In the annealed condition, these alloys have more than twice the strength of conventional austenitic stainless steels and superior corrosion resistance in many environments. Alloy 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel with 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum and 7% nickel, designed for demanding applications that require exceptional durability and corrosion resistance, such as chemical and petrochemical processes and sea-water equipment.
