seamless steel pipe and tube

Inconel Pipe is made up of a material that is specifically optimized for some of the toughest use conditions to be found in manufacturing. Even compared to stainless steel, Inconel has an incredibly high tolerance for extreme heat, and doesn‘t lose as much tensile strength at 2,000¡ãF as most varieties of steel.

API 5L and ASTM seamless steel pipes are made from steel ingots or solid tubes, through perforated tubes, which can then be formed by hot rolling, cold rolling or cold drawing. Hot-rolled seamless steel pipes are made by billet forging, piercing, rolling, shaping and other processes. For large-diameter pipes and thick-walled seamless pipes, it is usually manufactured in this way. Cold-drawn seamless pipe adopts cold-drawn forming technology.

Tubing is manufactured through an extrusion process in which the tubing is pulled from a solid stainless steel billet and extruded into a hollow form. The blanks are first heated and then formed into rectangular circular moulds, which are hollowed out in a punching machine. While still hot, pull the mold over the mandrel rod and lengthen. The mandrel milling process increases the die length twentyfold to create the seamless tube shape. The tube is further shaped by pilger, cold rolling process or cold drawing.
