semi-finished raw materials of Monel 400 Threaded Elbows strong and oxidation-resistant product
The alloy can be machined at satisfactory speeds with machine tools commonly used in the industry. Generally, cold drawn or cold drawn stress relief materials are recommended for the best machinability and smoothest finish.
Alloy 400 is easily hot or cold worked. Thermal operating range is 1700¡ãF to 2150¡ãF. The optimum operating temperature is approximately 2000¡ãF. By properly controlling the amount of hot and/or cold working and selecting an appropriate heat treatment, finished products with a fairly wide range of mechanical properties can be produced. Monel 400 is a solid solution alloy that can be hardened by cold work. The product has attractive performance characteristics, including good solderability and high strength, and retains its properties at sub-zero temperatures.
