Stainless Steel pipe fittings 316 pipe bend with outstanding welding characteristics
Type 316 steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel that contains between two and 3% molybdenum.
Type 316/316L resists atmospheric corrosion as well as in moderately oxidizing environments. It also resists corrosion in marine atmospheres and has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion in the as-welded condition. Type 316/316L has excellent strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures. Type 316/316L is non-magnetic in the annealed condition but may become slightly magnetic as a result of severe cold working. 316/316L Stainless Steel Sheet, is a popular grade of stainless where superior corrosion resistance is of primary importance. Stainless steel type 316 is part of a family of stainless steel alloys (301, 302, 303, 304, 316, 347). The 316 family is a group of austenitic stainless steels with superior corrosion resistance to 304 stainless steel. This alloy is suitable for welding because it has a carbon content lower than 301 to 303 series alloys to avoid carbide precipitation in welding applications.
