ASTM A320 Class L7 fasteners are manufactured using high strength materials ideal for the manufacture of fastener product bolts, studs and bolts that can be used in a wide range of high temperatures in bolting applications.

ASTM A193 Grade B7 bolts are made of chrome-molybdenum material with high tensile strength and good elongation properties.

A193 B7 threaded rods are also known as hex bolts. It has threads on both ends and it is a relatively long rod.

This is useful for selecting bolts with different strength levels for different high pressure and high temperature applications. ASTM A193 grade b7 hex bolts and other types have a minimum tensile strength of up to 125ksi.

ASTM A194 Grade 2H bolts are high strength bolts made from carbon steel.

ASTM A194 Grade 2H Nut is a carbon based steel heavy duty nut. It is a commonly used high strength nut.

The ASTM A194 specification covers carbon, alloy and stainless steel bolts for high pressure and/or high temperature service.

A194 2H Heavy Duty Hex bolts are designed for high strength, high temperature or high pressure applications and are usually available in a plain finish.

ASTM A194 bolts include metals such as manganese and silicon, with additions of phosphorus, sulfur, and carbon. ASTM A194 gr 2h bolts are suitable for high pressure or high temperature service, or both. Further machining is possible by centerless grinding or cold drawing.

ASTM A193 Grade B7 Heavy Duty Hex Head Bolts are high strength fasteners made from heat treated alloy steel AISI 4140/4142 quenched and tempered.

The ASTM A320 specification, originally approved in 1948, covers alloy steel and stainless steel bolting materials for low temperature service.

ASTM A193 Grade B7M bolts and studs have the same chemical composition as Grade B7 (quenched and tempered medium carbon alloy steel) but have lower strength requirements requiring 100% hardness testing on all fasteners manufactured in the batch. Grade B7M bolts are resistant to chloride, sulfide and hydrogen stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and are often used in sour gas service.

Bolts are chrome molybdenum heat treated steel according to ASTM A193 B7m specification for bolts. The primary alloy components of ASTM A193 Grade B7 bolts are chromium and molybdenum. These ASTM A193 B7 Metric Bolts are manufactured by heat quenching and tempering. Heat treating A193 B7 bolt material helps to develop desired mechanical properties such as increased tensile strength of ASTM A193 B7 hex bolts after heat treatment.

Standard ASTM A193 B7 fasteners typically have a common bare metal finish. However, ASTM A193 Grade B7 studs can be galvanized, hot-dip galvanized, xylan coated, teflon coated if requested by the buyer. Coating ASTM A193 B7 fasteners can help improve the corrosion resistance of fasteners. This ASTM A193 Grade B7m bolt is typically used to fasten medium high temperature service materials. These bolts are liquid quenched from 50¡ãF to 900¡ãF and they can be air quenched from -40¡ãF to 900¡ãF.

The minimum yield and tensile strength requirements for ASTM A193 Grade B7m bolts are reduced compared to Grade B7 bolts. ASTM A193 B7 heavy duty hex bolts are readily available in the market. Therefore, A193-B7 studs are used in many applications due to their easy availability. ASTM A193 B7 Studs are commonly used in pipe flange connections and construction.

ASTM A194 2h nuts are available in nominal sizes ranging from ?” to 4″. These products are made with heavy duty hex nuts with different proof load stresses for regular nuts and zinc plated nuts. A194 2h coupling nut with 175ksi plain nut and 150ksi zinc plated nut. Fasteners of this grade of material also have high hardness.

Since these are heavy duty tension nuts, they are used in high vibration and high stress applications such as aircraft engine parts and automotive engine parts. ASTM A194 Class 2h material consists of all classes of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and silicon.

Grades 7, 7M, 8 and 8M have 8-10% nickel added. Grade 8 material lacks molybdenum, but Grade 8M ASTM A194 2h material contains all the elements mentioned in the composition, making it the strongest and most expensive class of materials in this grade.

ASTM A320 L7 Stud Bolts are designed for low temperature performance. These fasteners are commonly used in valves, flanges, fittings and pressure vessels. The ASTM specification recommends a minimum impact value of 20-ft-lbf -150F for ASTM A320 L7 studs.

ASTM A193 Grade B7 specification covers the requirements for high strength alloy steel bolting materials for high temperature or high pressure service and other special purpose applications. It is a standard specification that defines typical chemical composition, mechanical properties, hardness requirements, preferential heat treatment, product marking, certification, and other requirements for bolted connections used in pressure vessel service, valves, flanges, and fittings. ASTM A193 defines SI (metric) and inch-pound units.

ASTM A320 Grade L7 is a material specification for bolts, studs, nuts, and other fasteners designed for high temperature bolting applications. ASTM A320 L7 grades are divided into 4 performance classes, A, B, C, and D, each with different tensile and stress rupture properties. Class 660 fasteners are used to bolt boilers, pressure vessels, pipe flanges and valves for high temperature service.

Grade B7 is a heat treated chromium molybdenum low alloy steel with a minimum tensile strength requirement of 125 ksi (860 Mpa), a yield strength of 105 ksi (720 Mpa) and a maximum hardness of 35HRC. A193 Grade B7 is the most commonly used bolting size, plus A194 Grade 2H nuts are used for bolting carbon steel pipe.
