AISI 904L Studs are used to hold components together such as flanges, valves, filters and other plumbing components. Common AISI 904L stud types include full or continuous thread studs, tap end thread studs, stud studs, stud short shank studs, welded studs bolts etc. These alloy 904L studs are also an austenitic alloy, which means that iron carbide or a non-magnetic solid solution of carbon in iron is used to improve corrosion resistance. Welding of our Style 904L Stud Bolts can be performed using all conventional methods, in addition it does not require preheat and post weld heat treatment and can withstand hot cracking in constrained weldments.

AISI 904L washers are thin flat ring-type assemblies that are bolted between a bolt and a nut to evenly distribute the load on threaded fasteners. Stainless steel 904L washer has excellent resistance to general corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion in chemicals containing chlorides and sulfuric, phosphoric and nitric acids. SS 904L washer also contains niobium for stabilization against sensitization and resulting intergranular corrosion, a transformation that is not complete until temperatures drop to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

ASTM A453 covers 5 grades of bolts with 12 yield strength grades ranging from 50 to 120 ksi [345 to 827 Mpa] for high temperature applications such as fasteners for pressure vessel and valve flanges. Specifications are expressed in inch-pound units and SI units. Known as precipitation hardening stainless steel, this alloy is an austenitic grade that may sometimes be referred to as a nickel alloy. This is because ASTM A453 Grade 660 bolts are alloyed with relatively high nickel content for any stainless steel.

254 SMO is a high alloy austenitic stainless steel developed for use in seawater and other corrosive chlorine-containing media. The steel has the following properties: excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, high resistance to general corrosion and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking. 254 SMo / EN 1.4547 / UNS S31254 / 6Mo are generally used in pumps, valves, chokes, pipes/flanges and washers and have a high resistance to general corrosion.

ASTM A453 Grade 660 bolts are alloys with relatively high nickel content. Stainless Steel ASTM A453 Grade 660 Grade D washer has excellent corrosion resistance but also excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding or stress relief.

254 SMo UNS S31254 super austenitic steel combines moderate tensile strength with high ductility for excellent corrosion resistance in seawater and various industrial environments. ASTM A312 TP 310 is a medium carbon austenitic stainless steel suitable for high pressure and high temperature service. There are different grades such as ASME A213 and 312. Grade 310 is an austenitic stainless steel with excellent high temperature properties, as well as good ductility and weldability. Type 310 stainless steel tubing is typically used in high temperature applications. The high chromium and nickel content of grade 310 steel pipe provides excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance, as well as excellent strength at temperatures up to 2100¡ãF.

ASTM A213 TP 310 Pipe consists of 24% Chromium, 19% Nickel, Sulfur, Phosphorus, Silicon, Manganese and Carbon. Higher chromium and nickel content also makes it superior to 304 or 309 stainless steel. The material also has a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 520 MPa. The elongation is 40%, and the Brinell hardness of the 310 stainless steel pipe is 225HBW.

316 stainless steel washer is commonly used in gas/oil/oil, aerospace, food and beverage, industrial, cryogenic, construction and marine applications. 316 stainless steel has high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, including in marine or extremely corrosive environments. SS 254 SMO washer is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel developed for use in seawater and other aggressive chlorine-containing media. ASTM A312 Stainless Steel 254 SMO washer is a very high end austenitic alloy designed for maximum resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. 254SMo contains high levels of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen, making it particularly suitable for high chlorine environments such as brackish water, seawater, pulp mill bleaching plants and other high chlorine process streams.

ASTM A276 Type 316Ti is a material grade specification for 316Ti stainless steel cold-worked or hot-worked bar in round, square, hexagonal, and other hot-rolled extruded shapes. Alloy 316Ti studs do show surface corrosion, usually as a brown staining, which is particularly relevant for cracks and rough surface finish. The low thermal conductivity of austenitic alloys such as 316Ti studs causes heat to concentrate on the cutting edge, which means that coolants and lubricants are required and must be used in large quantities.

321 Stainless Steel Hex Nuts are used in different application types. 321 material is a stable austenitic stainless steel. SS 321 hex bolts have a minimum tensile strength of 621MPa and a minimum yield strength of 276MPa. The material also has a high hardness of 80 HBW. Due to its high melting point, AISI 321 Nuts and Bolts are used in high temperature and high pressure applications. Grade 321 studs have oxidation resistance up to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit, are very stable to weld heat-affected zone (HAZ) interparticle corrosion, and are also resistant to polythionate stress corrosion cracking.

Stainless steel 347 hex head bolts easily lose their shell electrons, resulting in a free-flowing cloud of electrons in their otherwise solid arrangement. Meanwhile, 347 stainless steel fasteners are used in corrosive environments where temperatures may cycle in excess of 800o F (425o C). Refinery applications are common. 321 Stainless Steel (UNS S32100/ASTM A193 B8T) is a very close relative. While 347 stainless steel is stabilized by the addition of niobium and tantalum to resist intergranular corrosion, 321 is stabilized by the addition of titanium. By adding niobium and tantalum, this material prevents the formation of chromium carbides. Since these elements have a stronger affinity for carbon than chromium, niobium-tantalum carbide precipitates within the grains rather than forming at the grain boundaries.
