The structure of 2205 duplex stainless steel consists of a pool of austenite surrounded by durable ferrite phases. In the toughened state, 2205 contains approximately 40-half ferrite. In fact, the above properties of 317L fittings are considered to be much better than traditionally used stainless grades such as 304, 304L, 316 and 316L.
