The display of the factory of 304 stainless steel wires
304 stainless steel wire or 1.4301 is an 18% chromium, 8% nickel austenitic stainless steel. It is a general purpose wire with good corrosion resistance for a wide range of applications requiring good weldability and/or formability.
At the same time, the limitation of stainless steel 304 wire is that titanium does not transfer well in a high temperature arc, so its use as a consumable is not recommended. Our stainless steel 304L coiled wire is the grade of choice for applications in the temperature range up to about 900 degrees Celsius, combining high strength, resistance to scaling and phase stability with subsequent resistance to water corrosion.
