Titanium is graded CP3 ¨C Grade 2 for its excellent cold formability and corrosion resistance and weldability. It is used in the aerospace, automotive chemical construction, marine and medical industries. Titanium is the strongest and most corrosion resistant, but less ductile. It is commonly used in medical and aerospace applications. Titanium also has a high strength-to-weight and strength-to-density ratio, which means it’s lightweight. Certain grades of titanium, such as grade 5, have much higher tensile strength than mild steel, which is only slightly more than half the density of mild steel.
