titanium pipe fittings stub end lustrous very hard light and corrosion-resistant
Titanium is considered to be a strong metal with an ultimate tensile strength of 434 MPa that makes 63,000 psi which is roughly equal to the strength of a low-grade steel alloy.
Due to this extreme hardness characteristic, it is used as a coating material for cutting tools; drill bits, for example, are coated with titanium nitride and carbide. It is also used as a coating for aesthetic purposes as it has a shiny gold finish. It is also used as a barrier material in semiconductor manufacturing. Two examples of titanium’s most corrosion-resistant grades are grades 7 and 11. They are “nearly pure” titanium with the addition of palladium (<0.5%) for excellent corrosion resistance.
