Welded stainless steel pipe astm a312 tp 304 304l

Grade 304L, the low carbon version of 304, does not require post-weld annealing and so is extensively used in heavy gauge components (over about 6mm). Grade 304H with its higher carbon content finds application at elevated temperature. The austenitic structure also gives these grades excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperature.

304 Stainless is a low carbon (0.08% max) version of basic 18-8 also known as 302. The SS 304 alloy steel is used in the development of the pipe and tubes. However, the alloy is made up of chromium and nickel contents which are providing the pipes and tubes various properties. The 304 / 304L grade of austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel tubes and pipes are the most versatile and widely used steel piping products. Type 304 / 304L stainless steel is a very low carbon steel that exhibits excellent corrosion resistance.
