ASTM A106 Pipe (ASME Code S/A 106 also included) is the standard specification for seamless carbon steel pipe for high temperature applications. The most common use is in refineries and factories when gases or fluids are transported under high temperature and pressure. ASTM A106 pipe includes three grades ASTM A106 Grade A, ASTM A106 Grade B, ASTM A106 Grade C.
The ASME SA106 pipes have minimum Yield strength of 240 MPa for grade B pipes and 275 MPa for grade C pipes and minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa for grade B pipes and 485 MPa for grade C pipes with a minimum elongation of 16.5% / 30%.
ASTM A106 seamless steel pipe includes two processes of cold drawing and hot rolling. In addition to the different production processes, the two are different in precision, surface quality, small size, mechanical properties, and organizational structure. ASTM A106 Grade B Pipes are widely used in various industries such as petroleum, chemical industry, boiler, power station, ship, machinery manufacturing, automobile, aviation, aerospace, energy, geology, construction and so on.
