Monel K500 Hex Bolt nut washer
In the most basic terms INCONEL® is a nickel-chromium alloy whereas MONEL® is a nickel-copper alloy. Both metals are commonly used in applications with extreme heat, high temperature corrosion, and generally severe conditions. ... There are various other MONEL® and INCONEL® alloys which may be more suitable to your needs.
It is commonly used in applications with highly corrosive conditions. Small additions of aluminium and titanium form an alloy (K-500) with the same corrosion resistance but with much greater strength due to gamma prime formation on aging. Monel is typically much more expensive than stainless steel.
Monel is used for marine engineering, chemical and hydrocarbon processing equipment, valves, pumps, shafts, fittings, fasteners, and heat exchangers. It is also used as part of metal instruments and frames of eyeglasses.
“Monel” refers to a group of nickel alloys that provide enhanced capabilities to withstand conditions that other materials cannot. Monel rivets are commonly found in aerospace, marine, and oil and gas production/refinery applications, as well as in high end musical instruments, among other uses.

Common Grades of Monel Fasteners
Monel 400 Fasteners
A nickel-copper alloy with high strength and excellent corrosion resistance in a range of media including sea water, hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid, and alkalies. Used commonly in marine engineering, chemical and hydrocarbon processing applications.
Monel K-500 Fasteners
A precipitation-hardenable nickel-copper alloy that combines the corrosion resistance of Monel alloy 400 with greater strength (over 2x as strong) and hardness. It also has low permeability and is nonmagnetic to temperatures as low as -150°F (-101°C).
Flat and lock washers are two of the most common types of washers. A flat washer is a basic washer that's flat on both sides. A lock washer is a semi-coiled washer that's used to secure bolts in place
When used correctly, a lock washer will hold the nut or other threaded fastener in place. To help it accomplish this, put the lock washer on first, below the fastener. If your project calls for other washers or hardware elements, they should go on before the lock washer so that it can hold them in place.
