Nitronic 50 stainless steel, also known as UNS S20910 or ASTM XM-19, is an austenitic alloy with added nitrogen that provides numerous beneficial qualities over 316 stainless steel, including:
· Increased strength
· Greater corrosion resistance
· Double the yield strength
Additionally, Nitronic 50 stainless exhibits very good mechanical properties at extreme hot or cold temperatures, and, unlike many other austenitic stainless steels, exhibits very low magnetic permeability when cold worked or cooled to sub-zero temperatures.
