Referred to as Nickel Alloy 825, Incoloy® 825 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with small amounts of molybdenum, copper, and titanium. This combination gives Incoloy 825 enhanced corrosion resistance in the harshest environments. Like many of the alloys in the Incoloy family, Incoloy 825 offers users a number of benefits:
- Excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids like sulfuric and phosphoric
- Helps avoid stress-corrosion cracking
- Stops localized attacks such as pitting and crevice corrosion
- High level of resistance to variety of oxidizing substances such as nitric acid, nitrates, and oxidizing salt
Because of its superior corrosion resistance characteristics, Incoloy 825 is in use in a number of industries and applications including:
- Chemical processing
- Pollution control
- Calorifiers
- Oil and gas recovery
- Hot vessels for food, water, and seawater
- Acid production
- Pickling tank heaters, tanks, and equipment
- Nuclear fuel reprocessing
- Radioactive waste handling
- Marine exhaust systems
Like most of the Incoloy family of alloys, Incoloy 825 has a unique chemical composition which includes:
- Ni 38-46%
- Fe 22% min
- Cr 19-23.5%
- Mo 2.5-3.5%
- Cu 1.5-3%
- Mn 1% max
- Ti 0.6-1.2%
Incoloy 825 is available via Continental Steel in wide variety of shapes and forms including, pipe, tube, sheet, strip, plate, round bar, flat bar, forging stock, hexagon, and wire. The various forms of Incoloy 825 meet different critical industrial standards from organizations like ASTM, ASME, BS, SEW, DIN, EN, and ISO.
2.Nickel Alloy Plates
Chemtex Alloy Inc. is a known manufacturer of Nikel Plates, which are solid solution strengthened, commercially pure wrought materials. Nickel Sheets is commercially pure and has good mechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance to alkalis i.e. Sodium hydroxide. Nikel Plates, Nickel Coils is a 99.6% pure wrought nickel alloy. It offers users a wide range of benefits including its primary component, nickel. Alloy Sheets has good resistance to corrosion in acids and alkalis and is most useful under reducing conditions.
Alloy Coils has good mechanical, magnetic and magneto-strictive properties and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Nickel Plates is used for a variety of processing equipment, particularly to maintain product purity in handling foods, synthetic fibres, and alkalies. Applications where Nickel Plates can be used include chemical processing and storage, synthetic fiber production, and processes where sodium hydroxide and fluorine is used.
